Why distance makes this harder
Photographs may not establish current title, possession, authority, or the identity of the people involved. Relatives may have competing interests. An overseas owner may pay an intermediary before understanding whether the issue is documentary, civil, criminal, revenue-related, or a combination.
Critical questions
- What is the current official land or property record?
- Who is legally authorized to act for the overseas owner?
- Has any transfer, mutation, lease, power, or court matter occurred?
- What part of the account is independently documented?
- Is there a current threat to a person, or only a property dispute?
- Which jurisdiction and professional discipline are relevant?
- What immediate action, if any, must be assessed by qualified counsel?
What a responsible future system would need
- Identity and authority verification
- Current official record retrieval
- Conflict review of relatives, caretakers, and professionals
- Qualified property and revenue-law review
- Neutral documentation of current conditions
- Defined scope and fee controls
- A timeline of official and court references
Safeguards
OPCA must never help a person use influence, force, police pressure, or publicity to decide disputed ownership. The future system would support lawful verification and qualified action only.
